Job description

As a Vault Officer, you will be responsible to:

• Manage the Treasury Cash Supply under dual custody, including the daily delivery and collection of cash from branches and CPU tellers.
• Prepare cash for ATMs and commercial client payrolls, ensuring timely and accurate distribution.
• Accurately count and process high volume client deposits, promptly identifying and reporting any discrepancies.
• Maintain sufficient levels of fresh cash both local and foreign currencies within authorized limits.
• Coordinate secure and timely cash shipments to the Central Bank.
• Detect and report counterfeit currency while keeping unsorted cash to a minimum.
• Ensure all cash is securely stored at the end of each day and that all movements are properly documented.
• Prepare detailed reports, maintain meeting minutes, and ensure clear communication with supervisors and management.
• Complete all required documentation, including Unusual Transaction Reports and submit through the portal on time.
• Follow all security and custody procedures diligently, including the safe handling of keys, passwords, and access codes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with the bank’s Clean Desk Policy.
• Assist with the teller lock-up process and perform additional tasks as directed by management.

Job requirements

You meet the following criteria:

• MBO-level education or equivalent, preferably with a background in accounting or bookkeeping.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the banking sector, ideally in cash management or vault operations.
• Knowledge of English, Dutch, Spanish. Papiamentu is an asset.
• Strong computer skills and experience with cash handling systems.
• Ability to recognize and handle counterfeit currency.
• Solid understanding of cash handling and security procedures within a banking environment.
• Familiarity with Know Your Customer regulations and Unusual Transaction Reporting procedures.
• High attention to detail and the ability to perform well under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills with a proactive and solution oriented mindset.
