Authorization Officer

We are currently looking for an Authorization Officer for one of our clients. In this role, you will be tasked with accurately authorizing payment instructions across a range of complexity levels using designated systems. Your responsibilities will also include ensuring that all payments comply with relevant regulations. A strong grasp of payment processes is essential for making informed decisions and mitigating any potential risks to the bank's operations and financial stability.

Job description

• Verify transfer instructions promptly, ensuring all fields are completed accurately and adhere to regulations.
• Maintain a good understanding of payment processes, especially swift transfers.
• Authorize outgoing wire payments.
• Validate input transactions for local payments in Transfer System. 
• Ensure correct charges are applied for local and standing order transactions.
• Investigate outstanding items and claims.
• Compile processed payment instructions. 
• Adhere to security guidelines when operating workstations.

Job requirements

• Minimum MBO degree in accounting. 
• Minimum 5 years banking experience. 
• Knowledge of the contents of Know Your Customer (KYC).
• Must have an in depth knowledge of the SWIFT message types for payments and must be able to interpret SWIFT instructions.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, and familiarity with Transfer and POD systems is required.
• Fluent in Papiamentu, Dutch, English and Spanish.
