For our client we are looking for a Compliance Officer. The Compliance Officer ensures that the company adheres to all regulatory requirements and internal policies related to the insurance industry. This role involves monitoring legal and compliance risks, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, and advising management on necessary actions to ensure full compliance.
Job description
The following tasks fall under your responsibility:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with insurance regulations, laws, and internal policies.
- Conduct regular audits to identify potential risks or non-compliance issues.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs and training for employees.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the insurance industry.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and prepare reports as required by regulatory bodies.
- Investigate and address compliance violations, recommending corrective actions where needed.
- Advise senior management on compliance risks and ensure proper documentation.
- Review and approve new insurance products and marketing materials to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Manage regulatory filings and maintain compliance records.
Job Requirements
You have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a similar role, preferably within the insurance sector.
Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of of insurance regulations and industry standards..
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (English, Dutch, Papiamentu).
- Proficient in understanding legal and regulatory documents.
- Capable of managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high ethical standards.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity; able to work independently or collaboratively.
